The new ISO 19011:2018 guidelines for auditing management system has been released by International Organisation for Standardisation, thus further improving the way audit is conducted. It replaced the old ISO 19011:201I version.
The new auditing guidelines further explains the principles of auditing and managing an audit programme for a more effective audit. It contains detailed instruction on how to perform management system audits, with guidance on the evaluation of competence of auditors involved in the audit process.
This auditing guideline is applicable to all types of organizations that need to plan and conduct internal or external audits of management systems or manage an audit programme. Other types of audit can also use ISO 19011 as a guide provided that specific competence needed for the audit is given due consideration.
